Thank you for visiting Korea Global Foundation (KGF).
KGF was established in 1999 in New York by opinion leaders who wished to contribute
topeaceful unification and prosperity in korea Peninsula and international society.
It was initially registered as non-profit organization at the Secretary of the State of
California and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) of the United States.
In 2000, KGF has started its journey by organizing the first World korea Forum (WKF) in New York.
Its efforts have been continued until today and the forum has been held in globalmajor cities
acrossAmerica, Asia and the Pacific,Europe and Eurasia region. KGF now is largely recognized
as one the high profile global forums in the fields of korea unification and global peaceful
coexistence.As a result, the organization is now largely conceivedas a leading Intellectual
Think Tank and platform for a discussion.
With such achievements, KGF has extended its work to Internationaldialogues with United States,
China, Russia, Japan and European Union (Global Eye Dialogues); Eurasia Forum;
Trans Eurasia Exploration; Global Leadership Course; Academic books publishing and quarterly magazine ‘The korea Voice’ publishing. In addition, KGF has established an affiliated department,
the Global Relations Institute (GRI), which includes the Global Politics and Economy Center (GPEC),
joint institute withSt. Petersburg University of Russia Federation. While taking amultiple role as
academic institute, peace building body and international organization, KGF has beenproactively carrying out its historic mission and responsibilities for the value and future of Korea and global Neighborhood.
Though, I have to admit that the journey has been challenging. KGF has been struggling to achieve its purpose as an independent non-profit organization mandated to be neutral in between the conservative and the progressive.Andrew Carnegie said“A big treegeta lot ofthe wind”,Andre Gide once said “Anyone who pioneered the departure towards the challenging environment must be longly”. By taking these words in mind, the organization will continue to overcome any challenge to come and open up the bright future for our nations.
In 2014, KGF has stepped into a new phaseby upgrading its constitutionalstatus as Parliament of Republic of Korea registered organization. We believe that this changemay provide enhanced recognition and enable increasedeffectiveness of our work.
